Ticketlabel – Maximizes & Personalizes Event Ticketing & Productions

Ticketlabel - Collision 2018 - Day Three

Before Ticketlabel, there was Mind Blowing Productions, a Live Entertainment Agency created in 2006 which focused on providing bookings, tour management and production for musicians, with the added offering of marketing and promotions. After many years of experiencing different types of ticketing companies for their projects, the founders saw that the ticketing companies were not providing all the necessary tools for event organizers in order for them to be successful and maximize their sales, organization and productions of events. So Nestor Jimenez (Co-Founder) and his European partners decided to create their own platform to sell event tickets, which included all of these extra tools necessary to make an event successful.

The Ticketlabel platform provides an innovative way to personalized experiences through whitelabel online shops while providing musicians and event organizers with effective tools to maximize databases, boosting each event’s target marketing campaigns. Similarly, Ticketlabel’s platform educates clients on ways to promote their events through social media, official websites, affiliates and partners. The platform has so many added benefits that event organizers can explore all event ticketing needs within one centralized platform. This helps event organizers minimize time on ticketing so that they can focus on other event logistics that really matter when creating a successful event.

Ticketlabel started in the Netherlands two years ago, when the founders tested it with European-region specific partners, adding modifications like promo codes, waiting queues to prevent overload crashes and global payment providers accepting over 50+ currencies. Ticketlabel is now available in Europe, North and South America.

“I believe that there are people who are born with those entrepreneurial genes; they don’t conform to the normal rules that society has put down on them. Some people gravitate towards this way of living naturally and can feel that spark and passion inspiring them to do what they really want to do,” believes Nestor Jimenez. “I started Mind Blowing Productions using Myspace. Every night I’d come home after working in a pizza restaurant, studying people’s profiles and their markets helping me build a strong network which today covers all continents of the world. I met a bunch of musicians most of them from South America and Europe. It was a this point in life that I realized I wanted to make a living out of my passion for Music”

Through having these years of experience in the music industry, the founders saw an untapped need from working in Europe, North and South America – large ticketing companies were not servicing their clients. They knew early on, that successful companies were the ones that were fully integrated into technology through their operations. The founders used their personal savings and experience from working in the music industry and decided to put a certain amount of time and financing into building the Ticketlabel platform, working with the best in creating the precise technology with patented applications.

Ticketlabel has most recently registered the company in South America. Colombia will be the physical headquarters for the Latin American operations. The platform offers multi-currency and multilingual capabilities based on its global reach. They now accept multiple currencies from around the world. The brand’s inception is prime for developing countries welcoming new technologies and innovative ways of ticketing. Headquartered in Tampa, FL Ticketlabel is now up and running and ready to bring its own approach to the mundane event ticketing industry.

Startup Tampa Bay - Put in the work

Startup Tampa Bay was founded in 2016, but the non-profit spirit was born in 2010 when Tampa hosted its first Startup Weekend. Since then, hundreds of volunteers have come together to host events that have impacted tens of thousands of people. United by a common belief that entrepreneurs shape the future of their communities, the organizers, volunteers, and business partners of Startup Tampa Bay serve as a foundation for our community by creating opportunities, encouraging collaboration, and providing support to entrepreneurs from all walks of life. The organization believes these efforts will embolden entrepreneurs to solve meaningful problems, build innovative technology, create jobs, excite our systems, attract topnotch talent, and develop Tampa Bay into a national, entrepreneurial focal point.

Startup Tampa Bay - Tampa Bay Hackathon in 2017,

Startup Tampa Bay’s cornerstone event is Startup Weekend. Known globally for its ability to cultivate innovation, this event brings together developers, designers, and hustlers to pitch ideas, form teams, and launch companies over the course of 54 hours. On the final day, the teams pitch what they’ve created to the judges, and then the top three return home with prize packages designed to jumpstart their companies. Two standout companies that have formed from Startup Weekend Tampa Bay since its inception include the ticketing platform Eventjoy acquired by Ticketmaster in 2014, and Zapier, which connects apps and automates workflows for businesses. In an effort to bring the lean startup lessons of Startup Weekend to a younger audience, Startup Tampa Bay hosted its first Startup Weekend Youth in 2014, which is a weekend-long crash course in creativity and entrepreneurship for children ages 10-12.

As a testament to the growth of the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Tampa Bay, Techstars selected our community to host Startup Week in 2015, now in its 5th year, which has empowered over 20,000 attendees so far. This community-curated conference packs over 100 free, public events into 5 days that cover a variety of topics. Past workshops have included coding boot camps, legal counsel for businesses, marketing, veterans entrepreneurship, pitch competitions, investor Q&A, one-on-one mentoring, graphic design and much more. Last year’s event brought in keynote speaker Gary Vaynerchuk! Entirely supported by local businesses and volunteers, Startup Week Tampa Bay is a crowdsourcing platform for knowledge sharing and community engagement.

Startup Tampa Bay launched Tampa Bay Hackathon in 2017, with the purpose of hosting hackathons that solve problems here in Tampa Bay. These hackathons are designed to allow partner companies to present challenges to a community of problem solvers, then over the course of a weekend, teams form to build new technology to address these problems. The winning teams then go home with some generous prizes. The organization also hosts startup socials, which are casual meetups that alternate between Tampa and St. Petersburg to create collisions that spark innovation.

The nonprofit exists as a platform for passionate individuals and businesses to get involved with the growth of Tampa Bay’s entrepreneurial
community. It was founded by Ryan Sullivan, Gracie Stemmer, and Trey Steinhoff, and has recently added Allison Barkley and JR Griggs to the board as well. This organization as a whole is both volunteer-driven and community-backed.

Recently, the organization has begun partnering with other events to bring even more to the community, making sure every industry and every individual has access to each event and resource. They welcome collaborations of all kind!

Gritty – Capturing what the Flyers and City of Philadelphia is all About

Gritty Florida Panthers v Philadelphia Flyers

Gritty Mascot Hug
Gritty Florida Panthers v Philadelphia Flyers

Prior to the launch of the 2018-19 Philadelphia Flyers season, Gritty was introduced to the world. Initially met with shock and fear, the mascot earned the City of Brotherly Love’s approval within 24 hours and now stands as one of it’s A-list celebrities. It was only a matter of days before Gritty rose to the top of USA Today’s ranked list of NHL mascots.

The idea of creating a Flyers mascot began at the NHL All-Star game in 2017, where many of the other team’s mascots gathered for a fan event. It was apparent to the Flyers marketing team that an absent mascot program was a missed opportunity. Launching a mascot created the opportunity to engage younger fans and developed another vehicle to interact with the community, considering that a mascot could lend a fun Flyers experience to 250-300 games and community events each year.

Gritty - hocky

Within the first month, Gritty generated a huge amount of media coverage, reaching nearly 70 million people on TV and earning 5 billion impressions online, worth $151 million in earned media. Gritty has been a media sensation, making appearances on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Saturday Night Live and the TODAY Show.

Since Gritty cannot speak in person, the team uses social media as an avenue to build his voice and personality – amassing more than 200,000 Twitter followers in his first few months.

As the city of Philadelphia has evolved, the Wells Fargo Center has transformed with it. As the city’s millennial population has grown, the premier destination for sports and entertainment has experienced a rebirth. As concepts like ‘premium seating,’ ‘luxury boxes,’ and ‘VIP club’ become outdated, they are replaced with innovations that revolve around
a more festival-oriented, social fan experience.

In the midst of a $250 million renovation, every aspect of the Wells Fargo Center will be transformed. Home to the Philadelphia Flyers, 76ers, Wings, Villanova Mens Basketball and more than 250 events each year, the arena is set to be the most technologically advanced venue in the country. Powered by Comcast, the Wells Fargo Center offers unparalleled WiFi connectivity, which provides countless opportunities for fans to connect with the event, each other and the outside world.

Multiple sections will open to provide direct views of the event floor. Massive HD screens line widened corridors – ensuring fans never miss a moment of the action. A new state-of-the-art sound system and LED lighting will transform acoustics and visuals for the millions of guests that come through the venue each year.

New social spaces as well as meet-and-eat areas that appeal to millennials feature expanded food and beverage options with local tie-ins, many from Philadelphia’s booming restaurant and craft beer scene. The newly created Skyline Bar includes panoramic glass windows along the building’s north wall, offering stunning views of the city’s expanding skyline.

DCE Productions – Creating Amazing Events

DCE Productions - Creating Amazing Events
DCE Productions - Creating Amazing Events

DCE Productions - Go All In

Dissatisfied with the status quo of audio visual services received for events they were managing in hotels and convention centers, DCE’s founders decided they could do the job better on their own. With no prior A/V production company experience, they applied professional strategic planning and execution skills and started investing in equipment and people. And one event at a time, DCE Productions began delighting meeting and event planners with technically sophisticated shows.

Today, DCE has produced some of the most spectacular events in the Tampa Bay region and has a hand in producing more than 450 events a year for hundreds of customers. According to CEO Paul Harris, their work begins months, or even years, before the event. “One of the key differentiators of DCE vs. the alternatives is our involvement in the planning process. The sooner we can start brainstorming and collaborating with our client’s event team, the more dynamic the end-product. We tend to cause our clients to raise their goals and elevate their game when it comes to events.”

DCE Productions - Tampa Bay
DCE Productions - live event production

DCE Productions is dedicated to developing, designing, planning and producing successful events for organizations across the country. They pride themselves on helping companies and organizations communicate their message using technology in both live event environments, in creative video production projects, and with hybrid in-person / remote attendee events using the latest in live streaming and web conferencing. Their resources include the sharpest, technically savvy producers, videographers, video editors, graphic artists, event experience designers, technical directors, project managers, audio engineers, video engineers, lighting directors, IT specialists, audience response technicians, webcasting technicians and digital signage technicians. “We roll up our sleeves early and develop concepts that ensure memorable experiences for each events’ attendees,” said Harris.

A key to DCE’s formula is rooted in one of its founding tenents: Become a vital part of the customers’ event management team. Most AV companies serving live events begin by compiling a detailed list of equipment and seeing how fast they can inflate a number on the bottom line of a price quote. DCE approaches each project asking “What is the objective of this event?” By assuming an interest in the overall success of each event, they become accountable to their customers on a different level than in-house AV providers or mom-and-pop AV companies.

“It’s all about providing an event experience that motivates and inspires the audience while maintaining the integrity of the event,” added Harris.

Regardless of the scope of the event or the size of the audience, DCE applies its formula for success. From a meeting for 25 people to a keynote for 10,000. And based on overwhelmingly positive customer satisfaction, Tampa-based DCE Productions has clearly succeeded in re-inventing the live production business
